Transparency

Bare your Soul and Shine your Light

When we practice transparency, we are open, understandable and easily read. We are free from pretense or deceit and our inner light is transmitted.

Although we may wish to be transparent we all at times have a little voice in our head that holds us back, that tells us to be quiet to keep the peace; that we aren’t good enough so why even try; we have failed before and it hurt or was embarrassing so if we don’t attempt anything we can be safe. When we listen to that little but powerful voice in our head, we sabotage our greatness; we play small and never live to our full potential. Without realising it we may even encourage others to not take risks, thinking we are helping them to also stay safe.

When we decide to ignore the negative chatter, ‘feel the fear’ and do it anyway we discover a taste of our greatness and in time what felt difficult to try becomes easy and we feel alive. When we live bravely, and spend time absorbed in things we love we shine brightly and have an inner glow of light and love that transmits to others. This inner glow is contagious and encourages others to live their grandest life too.

Being transparent isn’t just about shining your light though; it is also about baring your soul. Day is always followed by night just as light is followed by dark; we can’t always be shining brightly with everything in our lives running smoothly. To appreciate the light and happier times we need to endure the dark times and use these times to learn lessons and gain resilience. In sharing our more difficult times and lessons with others we inspire them to find the strength and courage to step out of the dark and shine brightly again, to live a full and balanced life. To share our mishaps can be tremendously powerful.

My wish for you today: Work on letting your light shine bright and let whatever blocks it yield to its bright power. Shine so brightly you light a dimly lit pathway for others to follow.

Quotes:

·  "One of the most calming and powerful acts you can do to intervene in the stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Struggling souls can catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it.” ~ Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

· “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.” ~ Maryanne Williamson.

· “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." ~ 'A Return To Love' (1992) by Marianne Williamson.

· “We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.” ~ Unknown.

This was used as the Spirit Yoga Theme for the week, I hope it can encourage you to bare your soul and shine your light.
